Tanya awoke to a knocking at her door. She had fallen asleep on the couch next to the empty bottle of Jack Daniels that she had drank earlier when she talked to Bishop. She heard the tapping again, this time she got up to see who it was. Her head was spinning from the amount of alcohol that was consumed. She walked over to the door, looking out the peephole and saw Bishop standing there. She opened the door, frustrated.

“What are you doing here? It's late,” she said as he walked inside.

“Well, hello to you, too. And it’s not late. It's only 9pm. I called you several times. Why didn’t you answer the phone?” Bishop asked her, observing everything in the living room. He saw the empty liquor bottle on the floor and shook his head. “I guess I have the answer. The entire bottle Tanya?”

Tanya walked past him and sat down on a chair. “I broke my phone after I talked to you so I couldn’t answer my phone, okay? And yes, I drank the bottle. One of us has to mourn our son. It seems like I’m the only one that cares about him.” Tears were in her eyes.

“Tanya, stop it! Now you are not going to keep placing the blame on me about our son. I want him home. I do. But I also know that he is not going to come willingly. It doesn’t help when you are blaming me all the time!”

“I’m not blaming you,” Tanya said crying. “All I’m asking you to do is save our son. Get him off the streets and bring him home. I’m not asking you to turn him into a Bible thumper but at least acknowledge he exists. You act like he never existed at all.” Tanya got up and walked over to her mini bar, looking for something to drink.

Bishop walked over to her and snatched the bottle out of her hand. “Give me this!” he said as she stumbled.

Tanya reached for the bottle, but Bishop was quick in getting it out of arm’s reach. “Stop trying to control me. I’m not your little side chick anymore! I do whatever I want. You have a wife, remember?” she asked sarcastically.

Bishop took the bottle, sat it down and grabbed Tanya tightly, shaking her to get her attention. “Stop it, Tanya! Do you hear me? Just stop it. Look at what you are doing to yourself,” he said as he held her by her arms.

Tanya looked up at him with so much hurt in her eyes. She cried out, letting out all of her vulnerabilities. Bishop’s heart softened. He pulled her closer to him letting her cry into his chest.

Tanya sobbed and repeatedly said, “I want my baby back.” He held her tight, letting her get it all out of her system. Tanya looked up at him and said, “I miss him so much, Bishop. I just want my baby home.”

Bishop looked down at Tanya. Seeing her look so pitiful and holding her, he placed his lips on hers softly.
